Durango seeks to ban photos of public documents


DURANGO | Durango officials are asking the city council to ban people from photographing public records to save money.

The new technology allows people with smartphones and tablets to take a picture of records. Those records can city workers days to find and provide under Colorado open record laws.

According to the Durango Herald (https://tinyurl.com/pn3wsnq ), the city charges 25 cents a page after the first 10 copies.
