BOULDER |  The lone finalist for president of the University of Colorado answered questions ranging from diversity to his congressional voting record during his first public forum event.

The Daily Camera reports University of North Dakota President Mark Kennedy fielded questions in Denver on Monday as part of his week of visits to the university’s campuses.

Kennedy said he is “fully committed to diversity,” citing the University of North Dakota’s adoption of an anti-discrimination policy under his presidency and the expansion of services for LGBTQ students.

When asked about his voting record, the former Republican Congressman from Minnesota said he would vote differently on same-sex marriage, but he didn’t mention other topics.

The university is looking for a replacement for President Bruce Benson, who is retiring in July.
