Police release video of missing 16-year-old girl

AURORA | Police released video Monday afternoon, Aug. 1 that they say shows a missing 16-year-old girl whose family hasn’t seen her in more than two weeks.

Lashaya Nae Stine, 16, was reported missing Friday, July 15. She was last seen at 2:30 a.m. near East Montview Boulevard and Peoria Street.

The video shows a woman walking down a street in the early morning hours of July 15, the last day Lashaya Nae Stine’s family saw her.

Aurora police spokeswoman Officer Diana Cooley said investigators believe the woman in the video is Lashaya.

“They’re pretty confident that’s her,” Cooley said.

Police said witnesses spotted a woman matching Lashaya’s description near East 16th Avenue and Peoria Street and saw her again July 23.

Investigators are asking anyone who sees Lashaya to call 911 immediately. Police are also asking that anyone who has seen her in recent days to call Detective Sgt. Chris Poppe at 303-739-6130.
