CENTENNIAL | A new court document shows that lawyers are arguing over access to educational records in the Colorado theater shooting case.
A court summary in the James Holmes case released Friday states that the documents turned over by the University of Colorado during a hearing on Thursday are non-medical, educational records.
University of Colorado attorney Steve Zweck-Bronner presented two packets of about 100 pages of documents each during the hearing. The type of documents wasn’t disclosed at the time and defense attorney Tamara Brady objected to anyone, even the judge, looking at them.
Prosecutors say they need those documents to prove that a notebook Holmes sent to a university psychiatrist should be given to them because it’s not protected under a patient-doctor relationship.
A hearing on the matter is set for Thursday.
