AURORA | An unidentified man was rushed to a hospital about two weeks ago after he was shot while in the parking lot of 10720 E. Iliff Ave. died Nov. 27 from his injuries, police said in a statement.

Police were called to investigate a shooting in the parking lot, adjacent to Havana Park, an off-track betting establishment, and several other businesses, at about 3:30 p.m. Nov. 22.

“Upon arrival officers located an adult male who had been shot in the abdomen,” police said Monday.  “At that time it was believed that his injuries were non-life threatening.”

The man died Nov. 27 from injuries he sustained in the shooting, police said. An autopsy performed Monday determined his death was a homicide, according to Aurora police Lt. Chris Amsler.

“No suspect information is available at this time,” Amsler said.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office, which is normal protocol for police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
