AURORA | A man and a woman were shot and killed in north Aurora early Tuesday morning, though investigators have yet to identify any suspects or determine what precipitated the fatal incident.
Aurora police personnel responded just after midnight Monday to the corner of East Colfax Avenue and Beeler Street after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in the area, police said in a news release.
First responders found a woman who had been shot and killed. Nearby officers also found a man who had been shot but was apparently still alive. He died at a local hospital a short time later, according to police.
The Adams County Coroner’s Office is expected to identify both slain people in the coming days.
Aurora homicide detectives are currently looking into the double fatal shooting, though investigators remain unclear on what led up to the killings, police said. No suspects have been identified.
