Man facing charges in north Aurora motel slaying

AURORA | A 23-year-old man is facing a first-degree murder charge after police say he killed a man in the parking lot of a north Aurora motel earlier this month.

Alexzander Bohanna was arrested last week in Colorado Springs and is being held in the Arapahoe County Jail without bond, according to state and jail records.

He was formally charged this week with first-degree murder stemming from the May 4 slaying of 32-year-old Marquette D. Killingsworth.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the parking lot of the Riviera Motel, 9100 E. Colfax Ave.

Police said when they responded they found a wounded man who was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation led to the closure of Colfax Avenue and a nearby elementary school.

Court documents detailing the evidence police have against Bohanna have been sealed.

According to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records, Bohanna has been arrested a handful of times in Colorado Springs on harassment charges.
