Man ‘detained’ by Aurora police after girl, 15, shot in parking lot Sunday night


AURORA | An adult male has been “detained” in connection with the parking-lot shooting and injury of a 15-year-old Aurora girl Sunday night, police said in a tweet.

Police were called to the Foxdale condo complex in the 18300 block of East Kepner Place at about 10 p.m. Sunday after a report of a shooting, according to information released in a tweet.

Police said a teenage girl was shot and injured and found her own way to a nearby hospital. Police said the girl’s injuries are non-life threatening. Later, police said an adult male had been “detained.”

“This shooting occurred in the parking lot,” police stated. “We are not looking for any other parties who were involved. What (led) up to the shooting and motive are still under investigation.”
