Investigators suspect man found shot in Aurora parking lot was murdered


AURORA | Aurora police suspect there may have been foul play involved in the death of man found with fatal gunshot wounds in a central Aurora condo complex early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the Sable Cove Condominiums at 912 S. Dearborn Way at about 12:15 a.m. June 23 after receiving a report that a man had been shot, police wrote in a news release.

First responders found a 33-year-old with gunshot wounds. He was found in the parking lot of the complex located just off of Sable Boulevard between East Exposition Avenue and East Mississippi Avenue. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office is expected to identify the man found shot to death in the coming days.

Aurora homicide detectives are investigating the death that has been “suspicious,” according to a department spokesperson. The agency did not release any other details surrounding the circumstances of the fatal shooting.
