Longtime spokeswoman for Aurora Public Schools heading west to DPS

AURORA | The primary voice box for Aurora Public Schools is headed one city over, the district announced Tuesday.

Georgia Duran, APS’ chief communication officer for the past 14 years, is moving on from Aurora to become the chief of family and community engagement for Denver Public Schools.

District officials called Duran’s departure a “bittersweet moment” for APS on Sept. 6 at the regular board of education meeting.

Patti Moon, news media specialist for APS, will serve as the district’s interim communications chief going forward, according to Duran.

Today, Sept. 9, marks Duran’s last official day with the district.
