AURORA | Housing development construction crews Wednesday discovered what appeared to be human bones while excavating a building site near East Smoky Hill Parkway and South Powhaton Road in southeast Aurora, according to an Aurora police blog site.

Investigators said the construction workers called police around 10 a.m. on Feb. 13 after they discovered the bones. Homicide and coroner officials are completing a forensic dig in the area.

The region has many open spaces and construction sites among housing developments.

Police said coroner officials will complete an autopsy on the remains, but released no other details.

Anyone with information about the bones is asked to call Agent Michael Prince at 303-739-6127.
