Car passenger shot on border between Aurora and Denver Wednesday night


AURORA | A car passenger was shot while driving through north Aurora Wednesday night but is expected to survive, Aurora police announced Thursday morning.

Police said the unidentified person was shot at approximately 9:20 p.m. July 1 near the intersection of East 40th Avenue and Tower Road, which sits on the border with Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.

The person driving the car drove the injured passenger to a nearby hospital.

No information on a suspect was immediately available.

The shooting was the third reported by Aurora police this week. Aurora has seen a bevy of gun and stabbing violence in the past few weeks.
