AURORA | Aurora police said a body discovered inside a burning car early Sunday morning on Interstate 225 is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Police said they responded to calls about a car fire on I-225 near East Colfax Avenue about 1:40 a.m Sunday.
Once the fire was extinguished by Aurora firefighters, police discovered an “unidentifiable body” inside the vehicle.
Police did not release any details about the car.
Aurora Police spokesman Matthew Longshore said in a statement that the Arapahoe County Coroner office will release the identity of the body.
Police said the case is being handled by a homicide unit because of the suspicious nature of of the fire and death.
