Aurora police search for 20-year-old man wanted for role in Sunday shooting

AURORA | Aurora police have issued a murder warrant for a 20-year-old man wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in the early morning hours of July 5.

Investigators on Friday obtained an arrest warrant for Master Titus Uriah Martin, Aurora police announced in a news release.

Martin is wanted for allegedly shooting and killing a 31-year-old man near East Colfax Avenue and Beeler Street at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Two other people were shot and killed in an unrelated incident at the same intersection two days later.

The man killed Sunday has yet to be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office. An emailed request to the office is pending.

Detectives believe Martin is “armed and a danger to our community,” a department spokesperson wrote. Still, investigators are encouraging Martin to turn himself into authorities.

Citing an ongoing investigation, police declined to release a photograph of Martin.

Anyone with any information related to Martin’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. The local branch of Crime Stoppers U.S.A. offers rewards of up to $2,000 for legitimate information.
