AURORA | A man convicted of wounding two people during a 2012 drive-by shooting on East Colfax Avenue in Aurora was sentenced to 75 years in prison Thursday. Mickell Johnson, mug shot courtesy Adams County DA's office.

Mickell Javon Johnson, 26, was convicted in November of two counts of attempted first-degree murder for shooting Stormy Davis and Joseph Puller in August 2012 at Colfax and Kingston Street.

According to a statement from the Adams County district attorney’s office, Johnson had argued with Puller several days before the shooting. Puller was shot in the legs, and Davis shot multiple times and nearly bled to death, prosecutors said.

“This was a very serious crime with lifelong consequences for the victims,” Deputy District Attorney Brian Mason said in a statement. “I’m happy that justice was done in this case and that the defendant will no longer be a danger to the community.”
