Man dead after Wednesday morning shooting at Aurora fast foot restaurant


AURORA | A shooting early Wednesday morning in a fast-food parking lot left a 19-year-old man dead in southeast Aurora, police said.

According to police, officers responded around midnight to a report of a fight in a Taco Bell parking lot at East Hampden Avenue and South Tower Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had suffered from a gunshot wound. The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.

Police said they think the victim was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and at some point during the fight, he was shot.

Investigators are looking for three white males in their late teens or early 20s seen fleeing the area. Police said two of the men were wearing dark colored T-shorts and one was possibly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front. All three were wearing light-colored shorts.

Police are asking anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Larry Martinez at 303-739-6710.
