COLORADO SPRINGS | The Latest on a spring storm in Colorado (all times local):

1 p.m.
A spring storm brought everything from blizzard conditions to thunderstorms to parts of Colorado.

Blowing snow, low visibility and vehicles sliding off the road initially shut down about 400 miles of roads in southern and eastern Colorado early Friday, including Interstate 25 between Castle Rock and Colorado Springs and Interstate 70 across the Eastern Plains. They re-opened but Interstate 25 was shut down in both directions from Walsenburg to New Mexico.

The storm brought mostly light snow to Colorado’s mountains but over a foot of new snow was reported in the San Juan Mountains. The Denver area got mostly rain while some thunderstorms developed close to the Kansas border.

The weather was also blamed for a power outage at the state motor vehicle headquarters which prevented offices from around the state from issuing driver’s licenses.
