BOULDER | Julie Andrews told more than 6,000 graduates of the University of Colorado, Boulder to consider the good they can do in the world, as she delivered the university’s commencement address on Friday.
The actress who starred in stage and film musicals including “The Sound of Music” and “Mary Poppins” spoke at CU Boulder’s Folsom Field.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera (https://bit.ly/13KQ92o ), she told graduates to “live lightly on this Earth and give generously.” Her speech was warmly received by the audience.
The 77-year-old actress, who won an Academy Award for her role as Mary Poppins, is also a children’s book author and an advocate for the arts and education.
Attendees were asked to arrive early because of tighter security than in past years.
