DENVER | Secretary of State Scott Gessler has won the latest battle over whether ballots should be mailed to inactive voters.

Denver District Court Judge Michael Martinez says Gessler had authority to block clerks from automatically sending mail ballots to inactive voters in city and school-board elections.

The ruling comes in a lawsuit brought by Denver Clerk and Recorder Debra Johnson.

According to the Denver Post (https://tinyurl.com/d5c8ark ), the judge ruled that voters in all Colorado communities should be treated equally.
