You probably won’t see Doc Brown’s DeLorean amid the hot rods and classic muscle cars up and down Aurora’s western edge, but Cruzin’ Havana — slated for Saturday, June 11 — is as close as you’ll get to a time machine beyond museum walls. The day kicks off with Colpar Hobbies’ third annual Mini-Cruise, with the public invited to come “cruze” their best model cars and trucks with the People’s Choice Theme Award focused on 1934 and earlier models. This year’s assemblage of sweet rides, free music and exotic foods is centered on four festival sites: The Stampede (2430 S. Havana), Gibby’s (1555 S. Havana), Havana Machine (850 S. Havana) and the parking lot for Concorde Career College (111 N. Havana). Mike Naughton Ford, which usually was on the circuit of stops, will be taking the year off on account of the major redevelopment expected at the dealership later this summer. There’s no fee to attend or do the poker run.
