AURORA | Customers of Village Dry Cleaners who have been unable to retrieve their clothes from the abandoned store for more than 60 days will finally get the chance to do so 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 21, Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 22, Friday, according to Aurora tax officials.
The city’s finance department, which seized the business on a warrant earlier Wednesday, will have employees on site to help people collect clothes left off for cleaning before the store unexpectedly closed in July.
Any customers who are unable to get their items during the specified windows may contact the city’s tax and licensing division at 303-739-7800 to schedule an appointment. Patrons will have to present their original ticket of sale or a valid photo ID to have their clothing returned.
Village Cleaners has been closed since mid-July when the owners left for an emergency and never returned, leaving over 60 customers’ clothing items locked locked inside of the building.
