FORT COLLINS | A Fort Collins-based call center company has told state officials it plans to lay off 600 workers by the end of the year.

The Coloradoan reports (https://noconow.co/17SmXb7 ) employees learned Monday that Center Partners is phasing in the layoffs from Oct. 1 through Dec. 6.

The company also plans to shut down one of its Fort Collins offices as of Dec. 1. A call center on Innovation Drive in Fort Collins will remain open.

Chief Operating Officer Christine Kneeland says the layoffs are due to “changing business needs.”

As of September 2011, Center Partners employed 1,443 workers at its two Fort Collins sites.

Because of the number of layoffs, Center Partners was required by law to notify the state labor department.
