Norman Gamboa is the Music Director for the Aurora Symphony and the Sonoma County Philharmonic. Gamboa moved to the US in 1996, from Costa Rica, after being offered a music scholarship to Montclair State University. Gamboa transferred to Baylor University, then got his masters in Orchestral Conducting, and wrapping up his education up with a PhD. in Orchestral Conducting from LSU. During a good portion of his doctorate studies, Gamboa was also the Music Director for the Gillette, WY symphony and he was a regular conductor for the National Symphony Orchestra of Guatemala.
